Lubin Olson hosts the Real Estate Roundtable Luncheon with speaker Guy Bjerke, the Director of Community Reuse Planning for the City of Concord on March 14, 2019.

We are pleased to welcome Guy Bjerke, the Director of Community Reuse Planning for the City of Concord, to our Real Estate Roundtable. Guy will discuss the City of Concord’s 30 year plan to transform the 5,000-acre former Concord Naval Weapons Station through the development of nearly 13,000 housing units, 6.1 million square feet of commercial, industrial and office space, 2.3 million square feet of institutional space, and a 2,500-acre regional park. Reuse of the former base represents a significant opportunity for Bay Area growth, and its location near the North Concord BART Station provides an opportunity for transit-oriented development that utilizes Smart City technology. Guy will also discuss the City’s partnership with Lennar for the first phase of development, an area of approximately 500 acres.

Guy has over 30 years’ experience in Bay Area issues through his governmental affairs work for the business community and the building industry. During his career, he was the Manager, Bay Area Region for the Western States Petroleum Association; the Economic Development Director for the City of Antioch; CEO of the Homebuilders Association of Northern California (now Building Industry Association of the Bay Area); and a staff member for the Concord Chamber of Commerce and the California State Senate. He is also a former Mayor and Council member for the City of Concord and a past Rotary Club President.
