Gerald M. Murphy is a partner in Lubin Olson’s Litigation, Commercial Litigation, Real Estate Litigation, Construction, Finance & Workouts, Land Use, and Real Estate service groups. He specializes in commercial litigation with an emphasis on real property disputes, including complex easements, title, partition, McEnerney actions, eminent domain, land use, finance, acquisitions, secured transactions, billboard regulation, leasing, design professional liability, construction defects, and unfair competition.  

Mr. Murphy represents high-wealth property owners, REITs, retail companies, shopping center and multi-family housing developers, financial institutions, borrowers and guarantors, contractors, property management companies, homeowners’ associations, real estate and mortgage brokerage firms, national and regional billboard companies, and title companies.

Mr. Murphy has tried approximately 100 cases in arbitration, state, and federal courts and has served as a standard-of-care expert in litigation matters. 

He has served as chair of the board of regents for Sacred Heart Cathedral Preparatory and president of St. Mary’s College rugby alumni board of directors.

Prior to joining Lubin Olson, Mr. Murphy was a partner at McKenna, Long & Aldridge LLP (formerly Luce, Forward, Hamilton & Scripps LLP), a partner at Jacobs, Spotswood, Casper & Murphy, P.C., and general counsel of a major California retailer.
